Girls discovered
A data-rich advocacy website designed to coincide with the Girls Discovered initiative. Using interactive map visualisation to bring the research to life in an approachable and accessible format.
Design process
With 2 very distinct user groups: researchers & academics and socially aware members of the general public, this project required a map interface that would appeal to both: simple to use and encourage users to dig deeper. Using an extras-on-demand approach to the interface and call-out hover pop-ups allowed for a clean interface that would put the map and data centre-stage but give quick access to the data in a visually appealing format.
I took this project through a clear UCD process: producing wireframes, interactive prototypes and final UI design and build.
